For nearly four years now Contort Yourself have been slaving away in the basement of The Roadhouse creating a name for themselves as pioneers in the underground music scene, not only in Manchester, but UK wide. Bastions of “The New Danceability” whether that be jacked up techno, 8-bit house, cosmic baleria or batty bass, they have always found themselves ahead of the curve.

Constantly digging and unearthing fresh new talent, Contort Yourself have been responsible for brining some of today’s biggest names to the front, with 2009 holding in particular sell-out live shows from the then unheard of LA ROUX as well as DRUMS OF DEATH and FENECH-SOLER. Simultaneously switching week on week to bring us genre crippling Dj sets from fresh faces including JACK BEATS, NOOB, RORY PHILLIPS, TODDLA T, RIVA STARR, alongside legends such as the FILTHY DUKES and DJ ZINC! Even though 2010 saw them returning to their monthly format, they have taken on the “less is more” adage and kicked off with a killer Megamix night, followed by guest sessions from EGYPTRIXX, SURKIN, A1 BASSLINE, JOAKIM and RENSAISSACE MAN.

What with another summer of HUGE versus events and their 4th Birthday on the horizon this institution continues to move from strength to strength… be sure to keep an eye on what’s they have in store for you because this is where the wagon starts.
