Four Tet. Yes.

Kieran Hebden has been doing it for years. A former member of Fridge (well worth a listen) who enjoyed cult success in the late 90’s on Trevor Jackson’s now sadly defunct Output label, he started releasing music as Four Tet in 1998.

Today sees the release of his 5th full length studio album, ‘There is Love In You’. So to get you in the mood, here’s some of his finest work, including one of my all-time favourite remixes, a track from his recent collaboration with Burial and the EPIC lead single from TILIY.

This is the first release from the UK’s fastest growing Filter Disco House producer Ghosts Of Venice. ‘I Learned From The Best’ is a tribute to 80’s Diva Whitney Houston with a nod to House legends ‘Le Knight Club’ along the way. ‘Her’ is a straight up summer Disco jam with looping samples and bouncy 909 beats. From the moment i met him i knew this dude was special, driving him back from Manchester airport after he’d played the night before the Greco Roman tent at Bestival, he was erratically dancing in the confines of the passenger seat and constantly spouting about how hyped he was on everything. Acid Love

I first came across Kings of the Universe when Hot City dropped Acid Love on his Fabric Party Mix… I’m not sure what it is about the sound of 808’s and 909’s that get’s me going at the moment but this track is mad fresh! Hailing from Sweden this pair have been jacking bodies overseas now for a few years now, and with a killer live PA/Dj set I don’t think it will be too long before you start hearing a lot more of these guys over on our shores. Until then check out the aforementioned track along with a killer mega/mini mix that we poached off their website.

The Living Graham Bond

We’ve had our beady little eye on this The Living Graham Bond for a while now and he’s recently just dropped his Debut “Incredibly Soft EP” on Venga Digital. We cut straight past all the lead track and jump straight on the B-Side which is a choppy glitchy wobbler with a rad little horn breakdown and daft vocal to boot! We love it and its been going down a storm in the dance.

Appearing on the scene earlier this year this DJ and producer “The Living Graham Bond” has steadily gained a reputation as an exciting new act to watch. Bootlegs of Olive, Stardust and Jack Penate (which you can download free from his myspace) have spread like wildfire through the blogosphere finding their way on to Radio 1 through fellow Essexian Kissy Sell Out. Continued play support from Kissy and finding himself featured on the Major Lazer Essential Mix prove that over the next year or so he’s seriously one to watch and 2010 will be as big as his basslines..
