WE NEED SOME MORE HAM IN HERE!

Two of my favourite lady deejays, Star Eyes and Jubilee, went on a magical mystery Midwestern tour not so long ago, and made a spanking video for all to see.

Its funny and plays host to a whole load of amazing wacky ish – The Asshole Castle, a call for more ham, serious shape throwing, topless dancers, cat barrow races and strobes. Lots of strobes!

I’M THE SHIT IN EAST ATLANTA

Whoa whoa whoa. Gucci Mane was all I listened to in NY, and I brought the obsession back to the UK with me. You can’t ignore a rapper who wears Bart Simpson and Kelloggs Frosties ice around his neck. Sadly, Gucci is stuck behind bars at the moment due to ‘probation violation’. But not to worry, Mad Decent megastar Diplo has got together a bunch of hype producers to remix the best bits of Gucci’s Cold War Mixtapes. The results are off the hook, with tracks that even mash together Gucci’s grilled slur with ATB and Daniel Bedingfield samples. Yeah, I know…bizarre but when you listen it makes a whole lot of sense.

And what’s more, all these beauties are available to download on Mad Decent’s blog for FREE. With one tiny bit of small print…like the South Rakkas Stimulus Package, all you have to do is sign up for the Mailing List to activate the D/L link. Not asking much really, seeing as Flying Lotus, Douster, Mumdance, Eymnd and Diplo himself were some of the star remixers.

COP COP COP it here!!!

JACK YO BODY

So Jackmaster was fucking sick and the suspense for Hot City’s set on the 19th is KILLING me….I’m diving deep into the early 90’s house. Absolutely love the garms being rocked on this televised rave-up. Bizarre Inc’s singer is ‘avin it with her pushed up peak and tonks earrings. And to think it was all happening when I was still pissing myself in the school sand-pit.

HUMANMAN

Manicured Noise – Metronome (Cousin Cole Remix)

manicurednoise

We’ve every excited to bring you this classic slice of Mancunian Punk-Funk reworked by Brooklyn’s very own party start extraordinaire Cousin Cole… sent from the lovely people at Caroline True Records. Nameing the clubnight after the seminal James Chance hit Contort Yourself its not hard to work out that I’m pretty obsessed with the whole Punk-Funk / Mutant Disco / No Wave sound outside of what i play in the clubs, so this is why i love this track. Cousin Cole takes the original blueprint for Punk-Funk on a magic carpet ride through Manchester’s infamous club the Hacienda, to the 21st Century dancefloor of New York City where Cole and crew man Pocketknife regularly rock the lofts of Brooklyn and beyond.

Staying true to the original sound Cole takes the sturdy bassline for a workout, thumping out the groove against a hypnotic sax line and chopped up vocal that punctuates the track later on. Somehow he gives this number that oh-so-cool tropical / tech house sound thats all over the show at the moment while making it sound equally relevant against the output of modern day dance funk outfits ala Friendly Fires… superb!

Manicured Noise – Metronome (Cousin Cole Remix 5-2)

Look mum, no masks!

Way before the shiny robot helmets and tightly laced leather bustiers Daft Punk were just a couple of guys who knew how to smash the shit out of a party! Here’s some exclusive footage of them doing so back in the day a short while before the Discovery album came out… i wish i had a time machine!
