TWEEK-A-HOLIC

All round smasher and NUMBERS boss Jackmaster just dropped this slice of dirty euro disco pop decadence the other day on the Numbers Podcast. It’s been going down a treat at COYO headquarters so we thought we’d share it with you lot. While we’re on the subject you should keep an eye out on his twitter ( @iamjackmaster ) as every now and then he jumps on board USTREAM and just gets oiled up and just plays out some of the tunes that he’s into, exclusive promos, re-edits and forthcoming tracks from a whole host of red hot labels. If you’re hooked up you can follow his station here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/jackmaster-radio, if not just keep them peeled… oh and he’s coming back to Manchester, albeit on a school night playing Hit’N'Run on the 25th Ocotber so stick that one in your diary! Until then get stuck into this mix:

MEGAMIX RETURNS
THE MEGAMIX IS BACK!!! I’m sure you all know the drill by now, but for those of you new to the concept here’s how it goes:
Each Night/DJ gets a 30 min slot to burn out the purest heat, all killer no filler, sweep the floor and get the party juiced in good style. The final hour results in an every man for themselves, Back 2 Back, No Holes Barred, All Holes Plugged…Megamix!!!
We’ve lined up another cracking night filled with Manchester’s premier disc jockeying power:
NAÏVE MELODY: This year has been epic for NM, with some bookings that can only be described as that of “legendary” status…. Smagghe, Weatherall, Twitch & Wilkes, Baldelli, ooooft! Anyone putting together parties like this knows what’s up so we don’t need to tell you that they’ll crush it proper!
EAT MY BEAT: Batty Bass, Wonky House, Tropical Techno, whatever you want, these boys can bring it… if there’s a party that needs starting they’ll be sure to do the job reeeeeeaaaaaaaaal nice!
TRAMP!: Tramp was one of our favourite Manchester Nights ever, but since its death William has gone on to make a name for himself in his own right as one of the best djs in Manchester, and deservedly so. Regular bookings alongside the biggest boys in the business has seen him tearing into the biggest clubs and even taking over the reigns of the world famous OPTIMO for the night and also warming up for some guys called 2ManyDjs!?
NOWWAVE: These boys know their stuff… they’ve put on pretty much every band that is cool and even those that didn’t even know they were cool yet. They’re so far ahead of the curve one of them once managed to high five an apparition of himself from 2 weeks in the future? Needless to say they can handle themselves behind the wheels of steel, (Especially when asked to stand in for Scratch Perverts on the main stage of Parklife?!?) so get set for some serious party throbbers.
STOP MAKING SENSE: Every time I see these lads play they smack it… Tropical Dubs to Spaced out Techno to Pumping Disco, these boys’ will be heating it from the depths of their collection for you dancing pleasure.
CONTORT YOURSELF: Yeah that’s us… we’ll be going in strong and fast jackin’ out the house party rhythms and durty disco thumpers.

In the second of our summer Co-Pro’s we’re teaming up with another Manchester institution MICRON for a one off special back in the 3rd Saturday slot! Last year we clubbed together and brought NOOB down to the cave for what was one of THE PARTYS OF THE SUMMER and this one shapes up to eclipse that!

His talent as a live artist Has gained him headline bookings at Fabric, Sankeys, mUmU, The Zoo Project Ibiza, Cafe De Anvers Belgium, Patent Blua Berlin as well as countless clubs and festivals across the globe .Fresh from the release of his second accliamed & massively popular Zoo Project album Saytek is working with Partner Cubism records who are re-editing and sourcing top remixers for his live work to create monthly series “Saytek Live

THE BEST OF EVERYTHING

So… French DJ/producer Brodinski was trying to decide what to put on his next mixtape when he had a minor freak-out, realizing he was presently obsessed with too much music to limit his wares. So he cut down his endless faves into two halves and gave the whole an appropriate moniker. But even presented separately, you can see how his lobes intersect—with the electro side a crushing techno coaster and the Southern-leaning hip hop side twerking mightily between scratches, clearly Brodinski is no shrinking violet when it comes to beats. – THE FADER
We highly recommend both these mixes so get downloading… full tracklists can be found here: http://best-of-everything.tumblr.com/

BABBADABBA
Renaissance Man’s new EP dropped this week and has been getting HUGE plaudits from all over the musical world:
Fader Magazine: This is like Billie Holliday making a house record using cut up drums from a Shellac record. This is like Biz Markie in 1986 when he lost his weed and had to be clean for a week and happened to meet the drummer of Slayer at Rick Rubin’s acid house Bar Mitzvah.
Joe Roberts (DJ Magazine/Time Out): Basically… I love Renaissance Man, I love Made to Play and I didn’t think anything could make this beautiful day better. Then this arrived. Thank you! 5/5
IDJ (UK) Editor/Dave Jenkins: “Love It!” 4/5
Jimmy Asquith (Super Super Magazine): Sick EP. Bump ‘n’ coconuts from the Renaissance men! 4/5
Christian Martin (dirtybird) – this shict is scrazy!!!!
A Trak – Great EP, all 3 tracks are solid. The beats are harder than their previous works too… I like that.
Luke Soloman – Favourite Track: 03. Wahhagoogoo This is killer. Scared by the other two.
Joe Goddard (Hot Chip): I’m into Wahhagoogoo most… Will play.
Tommie Sunshine – how is it possible to pick a favorite out of these three perfect tracks?
to hear for yourself what everyone’s going on about check the ace promo video featuring all three tracks above… and if that still hasnt convinced you then check the video below of them tearing into some club in paris alongside Jesse Rose.

FLESH / FLASH
Ed Banger are really getting back in the driving seat at the moment what with the ace Breakbot single Baby I’m Yours, new edgier stuff from Uffie, The New Carte Blanche collaboration and then this offering from Mr Flash.
I got very tired of Ed Banger a few years back when it all seemed to be about Justice and Busy P’s inflated Ego’s, everyone wanking each other off while doing high fives and getting crap tattoos, it was all hype over substance, but the kids lapped it up. “Ed Banger Records” had taken their foot off the musical gas that’s had afforded them said fame… All you have to do is look at their discography to see what im talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Banger_Records 24 releases in 2007 as apposed to the 6 that came out in 2009?! I think the only thing i’ve played out of theirs since 2007 are the Mr Oizo tracks, but that’s a no brainer?
But anyway, lets hope that they’ve all been home to their mum’s, been given a good feed and are ready to get back to making stupidly loud floor filling anthems that make you totally loose your shit. Because lets be honest, that’s what Ed Banger is all about.

THE SWISS

Although we’ve reduced the frequency of contort yourself proper to once a month, this doesn’t mean we’re letting up on the party action. Moving back to once a month allows us to free up some time and get stuck into some new little jaunts, presenting lives shows, throwing one off parties, secret raves and all manor of discoid nonsense.
Its no secret that we’re close “man friends” with the now wave troupe, so it comes as little surprise to see us teaming up with them once again to present a rather special little sunday night soiree! So without further ado we present to you austrailia’s hottest new boutique disco stars… the swiss
“in a time when everyone who isn’t crookers is claiming to be a “disco act”, there is an insurmountable wash of pretenders. Adelaide trio the swiss, however, are a legit live disco band who’s existence is based entirely on flavour and good times rather than the cobra snake and fitted caps. (nerdy bit: they are a band who are getting giancarlo meo tattoos rather than looking up giorgio moroder best-of tracklists)
The bubble bath ep on modular recordings (out february 2010) is testament to what lies at the core lifestyle of the swiss: crisp and snappy drums, quicksand laser-sludge bass, dizzy pops & flourishes, melody rays and synthesised strings that glide on the thermal currents of life. It’s as much a breathy telephone call as it is a mid-range bordeaux shared between ensconced lovers. Beyond the raw and sensual output of the band themselves, the ep also comes stacked with two floor-ready remixes from facecrushers knightlife and tensnake.
Beyond signing to modular, lighting up the festival circuit, getting “bubble bath” added to national rotation on triple j, supporting ladyhawke on her national tour and readying a national tour of their own, the swiss’ journey to the centre of 4/4 has so far not gone unnoticed. Erol alkan & sinden have uttered some kind words, aeroplane are opening many a set with a swiss jam and showing the three-piece glowing chart appreciation, but most of all the kids at the shows are going señor bananas. The stars are aligning and they play drums, bass and keys in the swiss.
Harvesting hits in the studio with australian mega-producer/songwriter donnie sloan (empire of the sun) the swiss have a lot to live up to when hitting the stage; they deliver every time with a searingly hot, intensely energetic live show.”
“bubble bath by the swiss. That is all…” – erol alkan
“i’m sat alone in my living room at 3am and i suddenly want to dance” – fake blood
“bubble bath is genius!” – sinden
“aeroplane hearts the swiss” – aeroplane
“can’t get enough of this tune” – annie mac
alongside these antipodean disco mavericks we have residents from both now wave and contort yourself jostling for supremacy over the dance floor in a battle royal, with weapons of choice being jackin’ house, cosmic disco, wonky techno, un classics and leftfield pop.
Tickets are £5 available here: http://www.skiddle.com/events/11373107/
